Optical Character Recognition, or OCR. Optical character recognition is a computer technology that automatically scans and reads handwritten text. It has a harder time with cursive than with print, which can be useful if you're writing something you would prefer not to be correctly scanned by OCR. All the guidelines recommended for optimal text recognition can be reversed if you want to sabotage OCR's chances!
