The World On A String
F.A.Q.
Q. You were posting new comics before. Why are you reposting all these old comics now?
A. I started drawing The World On A String in 2019, and more or less gave up on it for the majority of 2022. In the meantime, my old website expired. When I started drawing it again, I started this website specifically for the new stuff, but I came to regret that the old comics didn't have a home.
Q. What happened to the new ones? Can I still read them?
A. I took them out of the main navigation so I could get the old comics in order. You can still find the new ones in the comic archive.
Q. Why don't the old comics have an option to print a copy?
A. Partway through production, I switched to a format that could be printed on a single sheet of 8.5"x11" paper and folded into a mini comic book. (Instructions here.) Unfortunately, it doesn't work for comics made before that time, so those comics won't have that feature.
Q. What's your update schedule?
A. You can look forward to a new (old) World On A String comic strip every Monday, unless I forget.
Q. How many regular readers do you have? And how many of them ask you these questions?
A. None and none.
Q. Your comics are too big for my computer monitor.
A. That isn't a question. This site is optimized for a vertical screen, like a phone or a tablet. Try resizing your browser window.
Q. Is this really the world's first music education comic?
A. As far as I could find. It would be great if there were more.
Q. Why comics? Why not just do videos?
A. There are countless people doing music education videos already. Comics are a great educational tool, yet their potential for teaching music is underexplored.
Q. Why does your website look like it's from 1998?
A. It's a tribute to an Internet before social network sites came along and screwed up everything.
Q. Where else can I find you?
A. Your best bet is Instagram.
